The Teacher Awards (2010-11):
Bombay Cambridge Gurukul believes that there is no other profession that can remotely match the priceless legacy that a teacher leaves within each soul that journey through the portals of a school. These Awards felicitate the teachers whose work stands apart; who motivate and inspire the students to perform to their best, who work collaboratively to make the curriculum interesting and meaningful, manage their class very efficiently and create environments which are fair, sensitive and peaceful.
Terentia:
This is a Greek word which means ‘guardian’. This award is presented to the admin “for excellence in curriculum management and holistic development of students”.
Luminaire:
Luminaire means ‘one who lights, a celebrity, an inspiration to others, guiding light or leading light”. It acknowledges the most important person in a student’s life: a class teacher.
Precedo:
This award is for the best log book presentation and lesson plan by a teacher, demonstrating creativity, sensitivity, time management, and causing efficient learning.
Adriel:
Adriel means “innovative beaver, symbolizing skill”. This award is for the best event presented by a teacher on annual cultural day.
Agnitio:
Agnitio means ‘recognition’ in Latin . This award recognizes the new initiatives taken by a teacher for student learning.
Adiuvo:
Adiuvo means a person who helps. This award is for teachers who have generously devoted their time for the Gurukul students, above and beyond the call of duty.
Alexis:
This award is given to Counselors and Special Educators for consistent and exemplary contribution to School Mental Health.
Excellere:
This award is for excellence; for setting the highest standards in all aspects of school function, and for the contribution a person makes to the field of education and administration.
The Value Awards :
These Awards recognize teachers who give the children more than just academic concepts. They bring to the child the most precious gifts- the ability to discern behaviour, to understand the power of words, to believe that they impact the environment, and to accept that they are responsible for choosing their actions. Values can remain mere words, were it not for these teachers who bring them to life for students, practicing what they preach at all times.

The Consilium Awards:
Consilium means a consultant, a guide. These awards are given to members of the Dept. of Research and HRD for their commendable contribution to the Gurukul.
